Our music
We pride ourselves on having an eclectic repertoire which is ever expanding.
There is nothing we won't have a go at, unless someone suggests a Berio Sequenza...we're not doing THAT!
Many parts - one united sound
Whilst we sit separated in the traditional arrangement of soprano, alto, tenor and bass, we sing music that is written for 2 parts, 3 parts, 4 parts and sometimes more. The men often sing as one unit, but may sing at any octave that suits their natural range, be it tenor, baritone or bass.
Our current repertoire includes:
Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen - 2 parts
You raise Me Up - As sung by Josh Groban - 2 parts
The Gospel Train - classic spiritual - 2 parts
Monday Monday - As sung by The Mamas & Papas - 3 parts
Les Miserable medley - Boublil, Schonberg & Natel - 2 parts
Penny Lane - Lennon & McCartney - 2 parts
How Can I Keep From Singing -Rev Robert Lowry - 4 parts
Roquiem - Paul Barker - 3 parts
Here's a recording of Sanctus from Roquiem.
This is an informal and unplanned recording of our first run through of it, having learnt it that evening. Recorded on a member's phone!
This should give you an idea of the fun we have each week!
Enjoy!
